Hymn to Xochiquetzal is a stop-motion animation of an improvisational mural/graffiti painted at an abandoned home in the mining village of Fierro, New Mexico.
Collaboratively, this improvised mural/animation is an effort to create an intermedia tri-lingual narrative/visual poem celebrating the images and literature of the Najuatl (meso-american) tradition.
Hymn to Xochiquetzal
Our beloved one, Xochiquetzal,
I gladly go to the dancing place by the water,
going forth to the houses in Tamoanchan
Proud and beautiful young ones,
Wise ones, learned ones, who wept for the beauty of xochiquetzal;
you who have searched for Xochiquetzal, go forth to the place where i am going.
Go to the dancing place by the water,
to the place by the water where our beloved one brings forth beauty.

Mangas Creek (alternatively spelled Mangus and Mangas, after the great Apache leader Mangas Coloradas), is where potentially the Warm Springs Apache could have a reservation. I lived out there for about 2.5 years, and got to explore many of its pathways. This footage was filmed over that time.

64 artists and other travellers from Prague and Berlin ride a bus to Bosnia to make an art action at a high school on the former front lines of the savage Sarajevo seige. There are mines in the grass, and in the basement. The walls of the room they sleep in are riddled with bullet holes, and the windows blown out. They paint a mural, hold a fashion show with local models, throw a techno party. The blood stains still on the dance floor are painted over just in time by graffiti artists. Festivals: Prague Indies, Chicago Underground Film Festival, Antimatter.|
